Mangle Board are a tool that was used in the old peasant community to smooth linen. You rolled the humid linen tight around a round and smooth stick, and rubbed it with the Mangle Board. They are known in Norway from the 17th century, and first came to the cities. The Mangle Board eventually went out of use when the iron became common during the 19th century.
